Well I didn't get to hunt yesterday because of being bloated  .. but did hunt this morning and WHAT A HUNT !!.. yesterday afternoon my wife the grandgirls and I "went camping" ... man my grandgirls had a big time !.... after a sleepless night I got up and was at my listing spot at 6:30am (new time) and all I could hear was BUMP BUMP POOM POOM BUMP BUMP POOM BOOM POOM !  ... I was right across the big black river from the infamous million dollar huntin' club and I guess them ole boy's dranked to much the night before and went to sleep with the music turned up wide open !!!....

I didn't hear a bird on the roost and I was listening at a T in the road .... the way I had to walk was even closer to the music .... I ran into alot of water in the road and realized that my right boot had a hole in it !... I finally walked as far as my knee boots would take me and was fixing to turn back ... it was a fallin' tree across the road about a foot above the water so I decided to set on it to take a breather and do a little cold callin' .... I let out a series of yelps with my HEADCRUSHER (ENTICER) mouth call and a hen answered me !.. ... I called to her probably 4 diffrent times and she and some other hens answered me every time .... I called aggressively cuttin' hard ... and GOOOOOBBBBBBBLLLLLEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!.....

I went for the gusto and wadded probably 50 yards through water thigh deep !.... once reaching dry land it was very thick with privet and drift wood but I stopped in fear of spookin' the tom ... I called to him and he hammered again closing the distance !... I couldn't believe that he was leaving his hens because he had to have just flew down off the roost because it wasn't but 7:30am !... it was so thick I checked him a couple more times and every time he was about to blow the hat off of my head !!!... finally I glimpsed his white head at about 60 yards and he was swinging to my left coming to the ole road that I was on !... then I seen him at about 50 yards step into the road and turned and was coming my way  .... at about 30 yards I putted to stop him where I had a small opening and he telescoped his head and I didn't have a clear shot !! ... he did an alarm putt and turned to leave and thats when I let Trigger roar !.... LUCKILY the 3&1/2" 4,5 7 nitros "pixiedust" knocked him down long enough to allow me to get my foot on his head  ... standing there with my foot on his head I COULD STILL HEAR BUMP BUMP POOM POOM BUMP BUMP POOM BOOM POOM !

he's sporttin' a 10" beard with 1&1/8" spurs .... pretty good (big black swamp) turkey bird ... BigGrin
