I killed the OLD CULL SEVEN yesterday afternoon that I've had gam-cam pictures of for the past three years .... late yeaterday afternoon I was in the same stand that I killed the doe out of earlier this year . I haven't got to hunt much in the past few weeks due to work but yesterday afternoon I decided to try this stand again ... The stand is not but about 8' high because if I get any higher I can't see very well hunting in the planted oaks .... and its pretty awesome killin' deer that close to ya ! ....

anyway I got in the stand about 4pm and about 4:30 had a doe come down the trail I was hunting but I passed her up in hopes that my wife will get a chance to hunt the stand and kill her , she hasn't killed one yet this year with the bow and really wants to .... a few minutes later I hear loud grunting and deer running straight to me ! I get ready and its TWO SCURB BUCKS !!! the biggest of the two was a small 6pt and he was chasing a 5pt ..... they come on by me and I thought well that was pretty exciting ... the deer grunted probably 20 times !... probably about 5pm the OLD SEVEN come slipping by ..... he never knew I was there ! .... I took a marginal shot and hit him a little far back but new that I got a pass through ....

well I had forgotten my cell phone so I didn't give the deer much time because I knew my wife would be worried sick if I was very late getting home .... I had very little blood and swept the area a couple of times and found nothing ! .... I decided to back out and go back this morning to look for the deer but when I woke up it was pouring down raining .... finally about dinner the rain stopped and I went to look ..... and the deer didn't run 50 yards !!! I just couldn't see him in the thick crp at night .....

I would like to thank Rees guide for sharing alot of his hunting techniques that got this old boy killed ....

The OLD SEVEN is 20&1/4"s inside and actually has two more sticker points that make him a 9pt ....

Heres and old picture of him in the 08/09 season

heres a few of him early this year
